Pimpin' My Wife

I mentioned to a few of you that my wife is in her final year of grad school studying opera performance, and I recall some of you expressing interest in hearing her sing. Well, this Friday evening at 8pm she is participating in her school's semester ending opera scenes. The cost is free and there will be complimentary adult beverages and hors d'oeuvres to follow. Head down to the Longy School of Music off of the Cambridge Common (1 Follen Street) for an evening of some of the best no-cost opera the city can offer. If you're familiar with the Sheraton Commander hotel, start there and walk away from the common for just a few blocks and Longy will be on the right-hand side.

Brooke will be performing in the following scenes:
*Die Fledermaus Trio, by Johann Strauss
*Flavio Duet, by G. F. Handel
    *Lakme Duet, by Leo Delibes
Hope you're able to make it. T'would be wonderful to see you again.

I would love to go but Im a single mom that night and my six year old dosent sit for long periods of time.

I did a stage reading of Orpheus and Eurdyice at the Glimmerglass Opera in upstate NY last summer to kick off the summer season of operas all about about Orpheus and Eurdydice. I saw an amazing Philip Glass opera based on the Cocteu film of Orpheus. I usually dont like Philip Glass but this was wonderful.
so dont ask me how I got off on that tangent.

All the best to Brooke on friday!!!!

I'm definitely going to try to make it. Maybe I can get a faction and some followers. :-)

Am a little ill this week, so will have to pass.

But I will be thinking of Brooke and wishing her and James the best.

See you all soon, I hope.
